ABOUT THE PRINT:
The Toro Negro State Forest is home to the highest mountain in Puerto Rico, Cerro Punta, which stands at 4,389 feet above sea level. It is surrounded by the most dense forest and difficult terrain in PR - with hardly any trails. Unlike El Yunque, on this road PR 143 has very, very steep sides to the taller mountains, making hiking difficult or impossible. The top peak has a parking space below and its an easy 50 min hike up - do not use a car - the road is way too bad for that. The view depends on the weather.
There are other sections of this forest with places for camping, trails rivers and ponds.
