Thin Canvas - Holy Spirit River Deep Forest explorations - AI Paint style by Rosseau- El Yunque rainforest - Nikon D850
This image is TWO huge (very old) Palo Colorado trees that grow near a river in a virtual swamp, and amazingly they lean towards each other where precisely a Sierra Palm grows in between them!
This is just next to the river flowing...
WHY AI and Rosseau?
We found that Henri Rosseau (French, 1844–1910) painting style does capture the ESSENTIALS of the forest - thus making them FAR BETTER than the original prints.
For the last decades I documented the forest with mu camera, but was never happy with many of the images since the reality is that the rainforest is dark since the canopy captures most of the sunlight... and it is such a thick forest that most can not understand the raw images. I was VERY surprised that at last I found a way to share these fabulous places, untouched by the so called 'civilization' ...
HOW RIVERS START:
In this explorations of 21 days (3 separate weeks) the focus was and is HOW RIVERS START - how the forest protects this terrain from erosion and drought - keeping them always humid.
This is the rivers CANOPY - which was destroyed by Maria. Rosseau capture its essence and this making the contents much more clear...
These are historic pictures taken in 3 weeks of explorations for 21 days from 2014-2015 - before Hurricane Maria decimated the forest canopy in 2017 with 140 MPH winds for a whole day...
